Update 9th February 2012: We have been loath to recommend US funds for about 15 years, and it certainly hasn’t hurt portfolio performance to date. We believe the US equities still look expensive and there are better growth prospects in Asia.

Nonetheless there are those that believe the US economy is now into a self sustaining recovery, and that the inherent dynamism of their economy means you should have an exposure to the US stock market.
